It’s been a movie buying couple of weeks apparently. They’re finally starting to release a bunch of titles on Blu-ray that I like.
I just got the Back To the Future trilogy yesterday from Amazon. Had to watch that right away last night. Great classics! I was holding out against buying the DVD versions of those for when the blu-ray discs were released. I’ll have to spend a few hours to watch the extras on the disks.
I picked up the Matrix and Spider-man trilogies a couple weeks back.
Tonight though I was at Costco and took a look at the video isle. Surprisingly, I found the Alien Anthology and the Ocean’s 11/12/13 Trilogy. Amazon was selling Alien for $99 in Canada which was apparently marked down from $179.99. Costco had it though for $82! Given the comments on Amazon about it being overpriced, I wasn’t going to pass up the cheaper the price. Now I just have to find someone who wants my older DVD versions.
Oceans 11/12/13 was also quite a bit cheaper. Amazon has it for $65.09 and Costco had the set for $28.99. That’s cheaper than the DVD version on Amazon! Just $6 more than the single Oceans 11 disc.
Now, the only movie sets I’m waiting for on blu-ray is Star Wars (4/5/6), Lord of the Rings (extended), and perhaps the Indiana Jones series.
Anyway, lots to watch this weekend!
